Kenneth Luba, Director/Director of Photography, brings a history of over 45+ years in the Film and Video industry. That, combined with a college degree in painting and fine arts, conveys a sensibility of light and composition to his images that is unmatched.

 

Luba is a BFA graduate of Mt. Angel College and taught Film and Video Production at Portland State University from 1990-1992 and the Advanced Film and Video Production classes at Portland’s Art Institute in 2006/2007.  He has served on the Board of Directors and as President of the Oregon Media Production Association, was an honored member of ITVA and IABC. He has received honors and accolades for his cinematography, winning numerous awards including the Telly Award, the Joey Award, and the Houston “Worldfest” International Film Festival (Platinum, Gold and Silver Awards), The National Vision Award, The International Film Award, The Accolade, The EMPixx Platinum Award and The Television Festival of New York award for excellence in cinematography. 

 

Over the years as a Director of Photography, Kenneth has shot commercials for local and national clients to include: The Boys and Girls Clubs of America,

Bowflex Corporation, The Oregon Humane Society, The Oregon Lottery, Oregon State Parks, Yamasa Soy Sauce USA, Nutrition Now, Inc., Fred Meyer, Inc., WellPoint, and the State of Oregon Election Division.

 

As DP for three international award winning films, Luba garnered the highest awards given at the prestigious Houston “Worldfest” International Film Festival – The Platinum Award for his short subject film “My Way Home” and the EMPixx Platinum Award for the feature film “Population: 2”.

Luba’s most recent work “The Rise Of Whore Betsy”, a short film shot in 2019, was selected as a top 100 finalist for the 2019 Academy Award shorts category.
